IVA Para Medical Campus is providing premier nursing courses all over the Sri Lanka.
Course Delivery
This course will be delivered and assessed over 12 months under structured three semesters. The nominal total duration is 520 hours. The modes of delivery intended for this course are:
Face-to-face mode:
The course is provided through classroom mode delivery including Medical Lab practical rooms. It also includes written assessments, verbal assessment, third-party report and final exams. This course will be delivered and assessed over 12 months of classroom theory and simulation laboratory sessions with candidates completing in different care facilities.
All the new enrolling students are provided with one week of orientation in the first semester to introduce campus culture, course content, academic staff, lab facilities, FREE English course with certificate, FREE Computer Course with certificate and academic writing.
Professional Experience Placements
End of the class rooms’ sessions, will have a Professional Experience Placements component which may be conducted based on the relevant subjects in recognized hospitals.
The Professional Experience Placements will be 5 days a week. Students may be allocated a morning or afternoon shifts. Placement places selected by Campus management and it can be flexible to give priority up to your choice. Students must be ready to travel with their own cost. Most of the Hospitals are willing to pay some wage for our student to encourage them.
Possible Job Outcomes
After successful completion of the program the candidates may gain employment in a health or community care facility which may include a Private hospital, aged care, rehabilitation centers, clinic centers, Ambulance services, etc. as a qualified Nurse.

Entree Requirement
IVA has in place admission criteria for courses in its scope as required by campus Admission Policy and Procedure to ensure that candidates meet industry requirements.
- Applicants are required to be 17 years old and above.
- Satisfactorily completed Ordinary Level with minimum five subject passes
- All the applicants are required to have good English Knowledge
- Privies experience of health sector is giving advantage to enroll and escape some subjects with credits
Physical requirements
The physical requirements below are necessary to function in the healthcare facility and/or community setting. Students must be able to perform and complete course objectives and requirements with or without reasonable accommodations otherwise you will not be enrolled.
Skills and abilities that are needed to perform client care to pass the course objectives and requirements are:
- Strength: Sufficient to assist with lifting and transferring a client, and perform in emergency case
- Mobility: Sufficient mobility to bend, stoop, and bend down to the floor; ability to move around rapidly; and to move in small, confined areas.
- Hearing: Sufficient to hear through the stethoscope to discriminate sounds; to hear cries for help; to hear alarms on equipment and emergency signals; and various overhead pages.
- Vision: Sufficient to make physical assessments of client and equipment.
- Communication:Able to communicate in both verbal and written formats; and interact with clients, staff, and faculty supervisors. Willing to learn of English is essential
